Drove all the way to Ibusuki from Kagoshima for a traditional Sand Bath but because of the approaching typhoon the place was shut for business. We then paid a visit to Chiran Peace Museum, it used to be an Air Base for Tokko (Kamikaze Pilots) Pilots, as this was the southernmost airbase in the mainland most of the pilots came from here and flew a sortie and died in the Sea of Okinawa. It gives insight into their brief time on this base and there are letters written by the pilots to family and loved ones, unfortunately you cannot take pictures inside the museum. We then drove a short way to Chiran Samurai Gardens, wow, no wonder those samurai were so cool and calm just look at these gardens they had, I mean the gardens would chillax anyone who's stressed out. We finish the day with diner at our hotel.
